QUADRUPLE NUMBER SELECTED IN TUESDAY'S MID-DAY BIG 4 DRAWING

MIDDLETOWN - Pennsylvania Lottery players whose favorite BIG 4 number is 2-2-2-2 were winners Tuesday afternoon when that number combination was drawn mid-day.
Tuesday afternoon’s BIG 4 payout totaled $3.09 million to 1,236 winning tickets, about 1,632 percent more than players wagered. A winning 50 cent BIG 4 wager pays $2,500; a winning $1 wager pays $5,000.
Prior to the September 2 drawing, quadruple numbers had been drawn nine times in the BIG 4 game – once each for 1s, 2s, 3s, 5s and 8s, and twice for 4s and 7s – in evening and mid-day drawings. This is the second time 2-2-2-2 has been drawn since BIG 4 was introduced Nov. 22, 1980. Mid-day draws of The Daily Number and BIG 4 began February 11, 2003. The last time a quadruple number was drawn was April 22, 2005, in the nighttime drawing; the number was 3-3-3-3.
