SEDALIA EMT WINS $10,000 LOTTERY PRIZE
August 29, 2008
A Sedalia emergency medical technician feels like a millionaire after winning $10,000 on a Missouri Lottery “Haunted Fortune” Scratchers ticket. Joyce Dotson, 59, uncovered the prize on Aug. 29 on a ticket she purchased at KK LLC, 120 E. 16th St. in Sedalia.

Dotson stopped for a frappuccino when she was on her way to work. She had won $100 on five “Haunted Fortune” tickets the day before, so she decided to buy five more of the tickets. Dotson had been at work for a little while when scratched the tickets. The first ticket revealed the $10,000 prize.

“I know $10,000 is not a lot of money for some people, but it feels like $1 million to me,” Dotson said.

Dotson is not yet sure what she will do with her prize money.

“I’m still too nervous to comprehend that I won it,” Dotson said.
