(Baltimore) - The Cash Blast $50,000 top prize winner arrived at Lottery headquarters still in disbelief. The Baltimore man bought one Cash Blast scratch-off ticket and scratched it while in the store. He initially thought he won $50. “The more I looked at the ticket the more I thought it was a joke,” the 25-year-old said. Once he realized he had won $50,000 he immediately called his parents.
“The funny thing is I am the Lottery player,” the man’s father told Lottery officials. “I play Pick 3 everyday using my grandchildren’s birthdays.”
Still a newlywed, the winner has been married ten months and has a five-month-old son. “I was so shocked I didn’t know what to do,” he said. “I didn’t want to tell my wife because she was sleeping, but I did anyway. She thought I was joking,”
With his prize money, the winner plans to make a house payment, take a vacation and save some to take his son to Disneyland one day.
The winning ticket was purchased at World Wide Liquors, located at 5910 Pulaski Highway in Baltimore City.
