TURN $1 INTO $60,000? IT CAN HAPPEN ON “THE BIG SPIN®” SHOW

SACRAMENTO – Randy Bratcher of Porterville had a dollar’s worth of change the other day and knew exactly what he wanted to do with it. He bought one Big Spin Scratchers® ticket and ended up on this weekend’s episode of the California Lottery’s television show spinning the largest prize wheel in the world. Bratcher won $60,000 and plans to start college funds for both his kids and take his girlfriend on vacation to Arkansas to visit family. The latest episode of the Big Spin show aired Saturday, August 23. The grand total won by all contestants was $162,500!
Nora Alemany of La Quinta couldn’t make it to The Big Spin but a proxy stepped in and won her $50,000. Alemany, an English and Spanish teacher, told Lottery officials that she planned on paying off debt with any prize she (or her proxy) won.
Noreen Manzano of Milpitas didn’t realize what she had when she uncovered “Spin-Spin-Spin” on her Big Spin Scratchers ticket. When she realized she would be on the show spinning the wheel, she asked, “Is this real?” She plans to buy a house and take a trip to the Philippines with her $30,000 prize.
