The Rhode Island Lottery Validations office was very busy this morning after having at least four big prizes hit over the weekend.
The $158,861 jackpot hit in Saturday night’s Wild Money drawing was claimed first thing this morning by a very happy man from Manville, RI. The lucky winner bought his ticket from One Stop Liquor at 97 Railroad St., Manville. He plans on using his winnings to go on a vacation and pay for two cars he recently purchased.
The Wild Money drawings take place three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights, live on WPRI-TV at 7:29pm. Tuesday night’s estimated jackpot is $20,000.
Not long after the Wild Money winner walked out the door, a lucky Warwick man came in to claim his $35,000 winnings from the New England Legends Instant Ticket. He purchased this lucky ticket from Shop N Go on West Shore Road in Warwick. He’s been thinking about buying a motorcycle and said this money will help him do that now, while the rest of his winnings will go straight into the bank.
There were also two $10,000 PowerBall® winners from Saturday night’s $35 million drawing. One ticket was sold from the Sunrise Market on Washington Street in Central Falls. That prize has yet to be claimed.
The other $10,000 winning PowerBall ticket was claimed by a Providence woman. She bought her ticket from East Side Prescription Center on Hope Street in Providence after her father said he had a feeling she should play. She plans on sharing her winnings.
Neither $10,000 winner purchased the PowerPlay® feature for an additional dollar on their wager. If they had, their $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by five, Saturday’s PowerPlay® number, to equal $50,000.
The estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is $43,000,000.
