THIS IS A $100,000 “DEAL” YOU WON'T WANT TO PASS UP!
August 20, 2008
Trenton, NJ – The New Jersey Lottery's newest $5 Instant Ticket game, Deal or No Deal , made its debut this week in the 6,100 members of the Lottery retailer network. With this instant ticket, even non-winning tickets can still turn out to be a pretty good “Deal”—and get you to Hollywood!

With instant win prizes up to $100,000, and over a million other prizes ranging from $5 to $10,000, Deal or No Deal provides players with fun and excitement. The game features a Symbol/Prize Match play area. Players scratch off their tickets to reveal fifteen (15) BRIEFCASES with either a Dollar Amount or a NO DEAL symbol. The player then scratches off the matching Dollar Amount or NO DEAL symbol on the Prize Board to eliminate that value. If the one remaining value is a Dollar Amoun t, the player wins that amount.

“But winning instantly isn't everything with this great ticket,” noted New Jersey Lottery Acting Executive Director William T. Jourdain, “Even non-winning tickets can earn you a trip to Hollywood and a chance to play on the new daily version of the Deal or No Deal Game Show—and win up to $2.5 million .dollars.”

Deal or No Deal offers thousands of prizes ranging from $5 to the top prize of $100,000, and nine (9) Lottery Bonus Zone® “Second Chance” drawings for players' non-winning tickets. For each of the nine (9) drawings, one (1) Grand Prize winner will be awarded a trip to Hollywood for two (2) people and a chance to play in a non-broadcast Run-Through game of Deal or No Deal for the chance to win up to $2,500,000. The Deal or No Deal Hollywood trip prize includes: roundtrip coach airfare for two (2) from any U.S. International airport to Los Angeles, all ground transfers between the airport and the hotel and studio, and accommodations of one (1) deluxe hotel room for four (4) nights. There will be one group of seven (7) New Jersey Lottery Prizewinners and two (2) New Jersey Lottery Prizewinners will be randomly mixed with other Deal or No Deal Prizewinners from participating lotteries and assigned to a group of no more than seven (7) trip winners. One (1) Prizewinner will then be selected randomly from among each group of seven (7) and each selected participant will participate in a Deal or No Deal non-broadcast Run-Through Game with Howie Mandel and the Banker.

Each Run-Through Game participant will win a guaranteed cash prize (no annuities) of between $.01 and $500,000 in accordance with the Deal or No Deal Syndicated Television Game Show rules. At the end of each Run-Through Game, each of the Run-Through Game participants will get to spin a special wheel for the chance to multiply their winnings by as much as five (5) times. All Prizewinners , whether they are randomly selected to participate in a Deal or No Deal non-broadcast Run-Through Game, will each win five thousand dollars ($5,000).

After all Lottery groups have played their Run-Through games, NBC/Universal and Lock and Key Productions, Inc. will observe and based on their selection standards, select a total of twenty-six (26) contestants from among the trip winners from participating lotteries to play the daily Deal or No Deal game with Howie Mandel and the Banker. Such game will be broadcast on national television stations syndicated by NBC/Universal during the 2008/2009 inaugural season for a special “Lottery Week” edition of the daily Deal or No Deal television show.

“But what's great about this ‘Second Chance' drawing,” noted Acting Executive Director Jourdain, “Is that even your ‘Second Chance' Drawing entries get a second chance!”

Jourdain went on to explain that all non-winning entries for each of the nine (9) Hollywood trip prize drawings will be automatically entered into a preliminary drawing to become a finalist for a Multi-State Second Chance Drawing for a chance to win a grand prize between $250,000 and $2,500,000.

Lottery Bonus Zone® “Second Chance” drawing entries must include three non-winning Deal or No Deal instant tickets, as well as the name, address and telephone number of the person submitting the entry. All entries should be sent to: Deal or No Deal Bonus Zone Drawing, PMB 191, 100 Springdale Road , A-3, Cherry Hill , NJ 08003-3360.
