$1 MILLION WON BY DEB MORGAN OF ARCADIA
August 15, 2008
INDIANAPOLIS - Hoosier Lottery Day at the State Fair (Aug. 14) ended with a bang when Deb Morgan of Arcadia chose to risk losing $250,000 for a chance to win $1 million. Morgan selected the correct number on the Hoosier Millionaire Show number board and became the Lottery's most recent millionaire. The Indiana State Fair Queen revealed the red $1,000,000 amount under the number Morgan selected.

"I came with nothing, so I decided to just go for it," said Morgan.

She and her husband own the Chick on a Stick booth across from Lotto Town at the Indiana State Fair and operate their business when they are on vacation from their regular day jobs. When Morgan's not worried about changing the oil in the chicken fryers, she is an ophthalmology technician in Arcadia. Morgan left the State Fair with $1,015,000 more than what she came with.

"It will be invested very wisely but I plan on getting my husband a new pick-up truck," said Morgan.

The Hoosier Millionaire Show returned to the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand Thursday night with host Mark Patrick. Lottery players had the chance to participate on the Show drawing for a chance to be a contestant by entering non-winning 5 Times the Money Scratch-off tickets at the State Fair only on Aug. 14. Contestant entry bins were available between 4 and 6 p.m. on Aug. 14 only. The drawing for the five Hoosier Millionaire Show contestants occurred at 6:30 p.m. in the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand. The sixth contestant, Vickie Snyder of Lucerne, had already been selected through the Hoosier Lottery's 2nd Chance Scratch n' Go Go promotion.

"This was one of the best shows ever," said Patrick, Hoosier Millionaire Show host. "It was awesome!"

The six Hoosier Millionaire Show contestants from Aug. 14 and the Play Along winner are listed with their game-ending prize amounts as follows:

Deb Morgan of Arcadia: $1,015,000
Vickie Snyder of Lucerne: $8,000
Paul Brashear of Indianapolis: $7,000
Amy Lovan of New Castle: $14,000 (which includes $5,000 Scratch-off tickets)
Timothy Morton of New Whiteland: $6,000 (which includes $2,000 in gas cards)
Robert Hawkins of Indianapolis: $7,000
Terie J. Ramirez of Warsaw (Play Along): $5,000

It wasn't only a big money day for the Hoosier Millionaire Show contestants. Earlier that morning, the Aug. 6 Hoosier Lotto winners came forward to claim their $3 million prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters. A press conference was held at the Indiana State Fair with the new winners, Bobby and Janell Guffey of Roanoke, and their family members.
