INDIANAPOLIS – Daniel Razaitis of Rockville likes to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off tickets once in a while. Wednesday, he decided to play Gas for Life and won the top prize of $78,000*.
“Right before I bought the ticket I said it would be cool if I won gas for life,” he said. “Then [after he won] I stood there for an hour and a half and told everyone that walked in the store.”
Razaitis purchased his ticket from Lee’s Mini Mart at 302 West Ohio Street in Rockville.
He plans to pay off debts, save and buy his sons presents.
* “Gas for Life” is the top prize, totaling $78,000, paid over 50 yrs. ($1,560 per year). The amount was calculated using average annual gasoline consumption and prices at the time the game was developed. The winner may take the prize as a lump sum which equals $36,000.
