$25,000 AND $40,000 PRIZES CLAIMED; $200,000 UNCLAIMED

Weekend lottery luck brought Susan Snyder of Augusta and Regina Collins of Omar to Charleston Monday (Aug. 4) to claim $65,000 in prizes.
Snyder won $25,000 from the West Virginia Lottery’s Cash25 drawing Friday, Aug. 1; Collins won a $40,000 prize from the Lottery’s $40,000 Cash instant game.
Lottery Director John Musgrave said a $200,000 prize from the Powerball drawing Saturday, Aug. 2 remains unclaimed. He said the ticket was purchased at N & Out Quick Mart in Fairmont. It missed hitting the $86 million jackpot by just one number.
Collins, who turns 39 later this month, said her $40,000 prize is “just about the best birthday gift a person could imagine. I lost my job in housekeeping at a local motel, so I’ve been on the search for another job. This will help my three kids and me get straightened up.” Her ticket was bought at Rich Oil in Chapmanville.
Equally grateful, Snyder said the $25,000 ticket she bought at L & M Market in Augusta was “a miracle, straight from God.” “We’ve been through a really hard time, an unbelievably hard time. This money will help us get life back in order.”
Married, with seven children and six grandchildren, Snyder said she was taking her husband to dinner before driving the five hours home. “We haven’t been out to eat in years.”
