$10,000 KENO WINNER NEAR DAYTON

DAYTON - A Brookville resident is a winner in the Ohio Lottery’s KENO game. Shawn K. Riley won $10,000 after playing a seven-spot game for $5. In the KENO game when a player matches seven of 20 numbers the winning amount is $2,000. Because Riley purchased a $5 draw, the winning amount was multiplied by 5, bringing the total prize amount to $10,000.
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Riley receives a check for $6,900.
The winning ticket was purchased at O’Riley‘s Tavern, 10 Market Street in Brookville. KENO began selling August 4 in selected retailer locations with monitor game licenses. The game is limited to retailers holding Class D liquor licenses with on-site consumption.
Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $15.5 billion to support K-12 education across Ohio. The Lottery’s fiscal year 2008 transfer to the Lottery Profits for Education Fund was $672.2 million.
