FARMINGTON CONSTRUCTION WORKER BUILDS NEST EGG
August 4, 2008

A construction worker from Farmington is the first player to claim the top prize on the "Red Hot Cash" Scratchers game. Phillip Lynn, 32, made his regular morning stop for soda and a ticket at BP, 12221 Dorsett in Maryland Heights, on July 24. He scratched off the ticket and discovered it was worth $100,000. Lynn quickly made his way to the St. Louis regional Lottery office to claim his prize.

Lynn was relieved to discover he was a winner so that he could settle some debt. He said he plans to put the remaining prize money in the bank for a future rainy day.

"Red Hot Cash" is a $5 dollar game that features a top prize of $100,000. The game began on July 19 and gives players a chance to win up to 20 times on a single ticket.
