FLOVILLA GREAT-GRANDMA WINS $50,000
August 4, 2008

ATLANTA – A great-grandmother from Flovilla has won a jumbo Georgia Lottery prize. Barbara Battle, 74, won $50,000 playing the instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic.

Big Chief Country Store, located at 1834 Highway 42 S. in Flovilla, sold the top prize ticket.

According to Battle, she shed tears of joy when she scratched the lucky ticket at home.

“I cried,” she said.

Battle plans to share her winnings with her family.

“Well I have 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, so I expect some of this will go toward their college education,” she explained.
