Washington, D.C.– The D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board is going viral with its promotion of the $2 Washington Nationals D.C. Scratcher. “Start Scratching!” is the theme for the infectious campaign currently spreading on YouTube, the video sharing website.
Starring the DC Scratchers, the Lottery’s fictional baseball team, and shot on location at the Navy Yard Metro Station and at Nationals Park stadium, the video shorts spotlight the popular scratch ticket that was introduced in March 2008.
“This is a fantastic promotion that we’re running throughout the summer. It’s a great way to marry product promotion with an avant-garde medium to transfer the D.C. Lottery’s message. We hope it’s contagious!” states Kevin Johnson, director of communications and marketing for the D.C. Lottery.
The $2 Washington Nationals D.C. Scratcher represents the D.C. Lottery’s firstever partnership with the Virginia Lottery to bring sports-enthusiast players this exciting ticket. Cash wins range from $2 to $5,000, with second chance drawings offering additional prizes including choice seating at upcoming Washington Nationals games and team merchandise. The DC Lottery’s Second Chance Drawing takes place August 6, 2008.
