SHORELINE'S LUCKY!!!!
July 27, 2008

SHORELINE — Last Night’s winning $9.7 million Lotto ticket sold in Shoreline is not the first for this growing community just north of Seattle. In fact, Saturday night’s winning ticket is the third Lotto jackpot ticket in just over three and a half years to be sold in Shoreline—not to mention other winning tickets.

Saturday night’s $9.7 million winning ticket, with winning numbers of 01-08-21-30-36-39, was sold at the 7-Eleven in Shoreline located at 1232 N 185th Street. “None of us really slept last night!” exclaimed the store’s owner Sunday morning. “We’re all pretty excited!” It’s not the only store to shine in Shoreline:

  • Earlier this week, a Shoreline man, Steve Knutson, won $1,000 a week for life on a Lucky for Life Scratch ticket purchased at the 16506 5th Ave. NE in Shoreline. That location also sold a $4.5 million winning Lotto ticket in July of 2004. Robert Ellis was the winner.

  • Last August, the Fred Meyer store located at183rd and Aurora in North Seattle just across the street from last night’s winning store sold a $9 million winning Lotto ticket. That jackpot was won by Brian Olheiser of Shoreline. Months later, Fred Meyer donated their $90,000 Retail Selling Bonus to eleven located charities located in the Shoreline area benefiting children, veterans and families.

  • Days after the August 2007 Shoreline Lotto jackpot win at Fred Meyer, Nelson Espiritu won $250,000 with a Mega Million ticket purchased at the Shoreline Safeway.

  • One Shoreline 7-Eleven, located at 928 N 160th Street, is the second luckiest store in the state to selling winning Lottery prizes. That store has sold at least five winning top prize tickets:

    • In January of this year, Tonyalee M Hovda won $250,000 with a Mega Millions ticket.

    • In November of 2003, Khamekone Sayavong won $5.1 million with a Lotto ticket.

    • In June of 1993, Ragnar J. Dahl bought a ticket at that store that was one of three tickets for a $6 million Lotto jackpot.

    • In August of 1990, John Lewicki purchased a winning ticket for a $4 million Lotto jackpot (there were two winners).

    • In February of 1990, David Sandness won $1.5 million with a Lotto jackpot ticket.

  • According to the Lottery’s records, Shoreline stores have sold nearly $27 million in Lotto and Quinto top prizes alone.
