ON THE DAY BEFORE HIS BIRTHDAY, BLACKSTONE MAN WINS $250,000

Glenn Jackson of Blackstone has seen 77 birthdays, but it would be difficult to imagine one more memorable than the one on which he had a $250,000 Mega Millions ticket in his possession.
Mr. Jackson matched the first five numbers in the July 22, 2008, Mega Millions drawing with a ticket he purchased at Community Convenience Store, located at 1001 South Main Street in Blackstone.
When he looked in the newspaper the next day, he saw that the only number on his ticket that he did not match was the Mega Ball number.
“I kept looking for that last number,” he told Lottery officials when he claimed his prize.
The winning numbers for that drawing were 2-16-23-29-32 and the Mega Ball number was 46. He used the Easy Pick function, allowing the computer to randomly select his numbers.
When asked what he plans to do with his winnings, Mr. Jackson said, “It will give us the chance to do some things we haven’t been able to do.”
