LYNCHBURG WOMAN WINS $100,000 FROM VIRGINIA LOTTERY

When Louise Motley of Lynchburg discovered that the Cash 5 ticket in her hand was worth $100,000, she nearly fell.
“If my nephew hadn’t been with me, I’d be on the floor,” she later told Virginia Lottery officials.
Mrs. Motley matched all five winning numbers in the July 19, 2008, Cash 5 night drawing. She bought the winning ticket at Quik-e Foods, located at 6015 Fort Avenue in Lynchburg. She selected her numbers using important family dates. The winning numbers were 4-8-15-20-25.
When she claimed her prize, Mrs. Motley told Lottery officials she is thrilled to be able to help her church and family members.
Cash 5 drawings are held daily at 1:59 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The chances of winning the $100,000 top prize are 1 in 278,256.
