PICK 3 BREAKS THE BANK, AND THEN SOME
July 28, 2008

(Baltimore) - A number thought by many to be unlucky proved very lucky indeed for thousands of Maryland Lottery Pick 3 players. Saturday evening’s Pick 3 drawing produced the combination 6-6-6. Payout for the drawing more than tripled the amount wagered.

“When triples are drawn we almost always pay out more than we brought in, which makes them very popular with our Pick 3 players,” reported Lottery Director Buddy Roogow. “They’re less popular, however, with our accountants,” he joked. The Lottery reported a payout of more than $1.6 million from Saturday night. Pick 3 sales for that drawing were $458,953.
