WINNER FROM JULY 4TH CLAIMS $277,669!

SACRAMENTO – A Burbank man with patriotism in his veins and independence on his mind has come forward to claim a $277,669 California Lottery prize from the July 4th MEGA Millions game. While he understands the public’s curiosity about his story and is willing to share many details, he prefers to remain anonymous.
The Southern California man purchased his ticket nearly 600 miles to the north near Redding. He was headed to Oregon to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday. In light of the day, July 4, he insisted on stopping to buy a MEGA Millions ticket to issue his own declaration. “I thought I had to win,” he told a Lottery representative, “because I needed my independence!” The future winner selected the required six numbers to play in combinations based on the date July 4, 1776. By the way, he added, he spent exactly four dollars. When the winning numbers were selected that evening, he had predicted the first five numbers and missed the sixth.
The latest Lottery winner does seem to have a patriotic and historic streak. He owns a colonial “carriage house” in Massachusetts. With his new wealth he is considering moving that house to the West Coast to serve as his future retirement home.
The winning ticket was purchased at Pine Grove Food Mart located at 2725 Cascade Boulevard, off Interstate 5 a few miles south of Shasta Lake.
