LOTO-QUÉBEC PROUDLY PRESENTS THE CHINESE CULTURAL FESTIVAL OF QUÉBEC

Québec – The courtyard of Québec City’s St. Roch Church will be transformed into a veritable Chinatown on July 19 and 20 for the Chinese Cultural Festival. As presenting sponsor of the event, Loto-Québec joins with the organizers of the Festival in inviting vacationers to learn all about the customs of Chinese civilization during the two days of celebrations.
The Festival kicks off on Saturday July 19 with the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Take the plunge into the world of Chinese culture thanks to the free performances and shows on the festival stage. During the weekend, Les Rendez-vous Loto-Québec brings you an acrobatic performance by students from an acting/stunt school, combat scenes from the Action Movie Academy and an introduction to Tai-Chi and Kung Fu demonstrations. The ever-popular Lion Dance, always one of the events most thrilling moments, also promises to leave spectators breathless! One of the main attractions is of course the Chinese market, set up especially for the occasion. Starting at noon on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday, visitors can stroll from kiosk to kiosk, where merchants from Montreal and Toronto Chinatowns offer traditional garments, original gift ideas, arts and crafts and so much more!
The Chinese Cultural Festival is now in its seventh edition and has welcomed more than 150,000 visitors during previous years. Take advantage of this opportunity to discover one of the most venerable and fascinating civilizations of the world!
