RICHWOOD GREAT-GRANDMOTHER WINS $25,000

Wilda Weese, 76, a retired dress shop owner from Richwood, has become the latest $25,000 top prizewinner in the Lottery’s Cash25 game, according to West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave. He said the winning ticket was purchased at Go Mart in Richwood for the drawing held July 18.
While Mrs. Weese terms her four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren “the delight of my life,” she said winning $25,000 comes a close second.
“I was just shocked, really. My husband won the $25,000 prize in 2002. I guess I just sort of thought that kind of luck in a family would only come once,” she said.
A retired miner, Bill Weese chose the “easy pick” method of choosing game numbers. His wife said she goes a different route. “I like to pick my own. Several years ago, I just picked six numbers at random between 10 and 20 and have stuck with those anytime I buy a ticket.”
Mrs. Weese said she knew exactly how she was going to spend the money from the moment she saw the wining numbers on the Lottery’s web site. “I invested it all in a bank CD.”
