Kalpana Swami of Boonville said the $10,000 winning Scratchers ticket couldn’t have come at a better time. Swami, 52, purchased a "Casino Showdown" Scratchers ticket from Conoco C-Store, 17395 Highway 87 in Boonville, on July 12. She took the ticket home where she scratched off the $10,000 prize.
"I’m so happy," said Swami.
Swami said she doesn’t play the Lottery a lot, but prayed for a win to help settle a debt her family recently incurred. The win will pay the debt, and then she plans to make good on a promise to her daughter for a new laptop computer.
"She told me she wants (a computer)," explained Swami. "So I told her if I win something, then I buy for you."
"My computer is as slow as a turtle," her daughter added.
