An Air National Guard Armament Specialist at Lambert Field in St. Louis has claimed the second-level prize in Powerball of $200,000. Doris Patton, 43, purchased $2 worth of Quick Pick tickets for the July 5 Powerball drawing at Florissant Kwik Shop, 1253 Dunn Rd. in Florissant (63031)*. Patton discovered that she had matched five white-ball numbers to win $200,000 and took the ticket to the St. Louis regional Lottery office to claim her prize on July 9. The winning numbers were 1, 24, 34, 47, 48 and the Powerball number was 18.

Patton said that she was currently working on her own house and plans to use the money to continue investing in real estate. She was excited about becoming "her own boss" and building a legacy for her 7-year-old daughter.

"People are always going to need the basics, like housing and food," said Patton when asked about the uncertain economy.

Powerball is a multi-state game that features jackpots starting at $15 million.
