BIRTHDAYS GIVE ATHOL WOMAN MEGABUCKS PRESENT

With four children and 11 grandchildren, Nancy A. Murphy has a lot of good birthdays to choose from. Selecting those dates -- 1-7-10-17-23-36 – resulted in a Megabucks Jackpot of $400,000 for her on the Saturday, June 28 drawing.
Murphy of Athol received her first of 20 annuity checks for $20,000 before taxes today at Lottery headquarters in Braintree. She bought the lucky ticket at D&S Liquors on Tunnel Street in Athol. The store will receive a $4,000 commission on the sale.
Megabucks is drawn every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:20 p.m. at WCVB-TV Channel 5. Players enter by selecting six numbers from a field of 42 and win by matching at least three of their numbers. Since Megabucks began in 1982, players have taken home more than $2.4 billion in Jackpots.
