NEW ORLEANS RESIDENT CLAIMS THE $1,050,000 LOTTO JACKPOT FROM THE JULY 5 DRAWING

Charles Canada of New Orleans was the sole winner of the $1,050,000 Lotto jackpot from the July 5 drawing. His win marks the second Lotto jackpot over $1 million won thus far in 2008.
He purchased his winning ticket at the Cleary Shell on Cleary Avenue in Metairie. Cleary Shell will receive a one-time bonus of $10,500, or one percent of the jackpot prize, for selling Canada his winning ticket.
Canada, age 39, received $744,000 after state and federal taxes were withheld.
The winning numbers for the July 5 Lotto drawing were 3-5-14-21-27-38.
