HAMMOND RETIREE CASHES IN $100,000 LOTTERY TICKET

INDIANAPOLIS – Lester Edington of Hammond, 83, retired from truck driving years ago but decided to take a two hour drive down to Indianapolis this morning with the help of his two sons. Edington cashed in his winning Cash Crop Scratch-off ticket and claimed his $100,000 prize from Hoosier Lottery Headquarters.
“I almost passed out," said Edington describing when he looked at the scratched off ticket. "I immediately called my sons."
"He called me and said, 'Pops just won $100,000!'" said son Jim Edington.
Edington purchased his winning ticket from Olympia Lanes at 4150 Calumet Ave. in Hammond.
"I enjoy playing," said Edington. "I play for the money!'
The Lake County resident eventually plans to spend his winnings.
"He hasn't thought about on what yet," said Jim Edington.
