INDIANAPOLIS – When Frederick May of Bloomington left the Pan Am Plaza building in the mid-1980’s after finishing a dry wall job, he never expected he would return to redeem a $100,000 Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off ticket.
“I can’t think of a better reason to come back,” he said.
May, who retired from hanging drywall after 35 years, purchased his winning Cash Crop Scratch-off ticket from Circle S Food Mart at 4200 State Road 46 West in Bloomington this morning.
“I kind of went blank for a minute. [I thought] this can’t be right,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
May plans to save part of the $100,000 and pay bills.
“I do it because I like to play,” he said. “It’s fun.”
