CLAREMORE MAN CLAIMS $10K POWERBALL TICKET
June 30, 2008
OKLAHOMA CITY – Kim Mitchell of Claremore has claimed his winning Powerball ticket worth $10,000 from the May 24 drawing. He purchased his ticket at Quick Trip #66 located at 24985 Highway 66 in Verdigris.

Mitchell and his girlfriend, Sharissa Weddle, have played the Lottery occasionally since its launch.

“We have a large lawn so we purchased a riding lawn mower about a year ago on a 12 months same as cash program,” said Mitchell. “The 12 months is almost up and I was joking with Sharissa about maybe winning the Lottery to pay for it!”

The couple learned of the winning ticket on Memorial Day when they checked with the retailer.

“We think it’s great that the Lottery proceeds support education, especially since we have three children in school,” he said.
