INDIANAPOLIS: Marjorie Morris of Paoli always plays the Hoosier Lottery twice a week, buying five Powerball, five Hoosier Lotto and six Scratch-off tickets. It has paid off this week, as she won $78,000, the top prize in Gas for Life.
“I scared my two parrots half to death. I hollered so loud,” she said describing her reaction upon realizing her win.
“I think I heard her in Louisville,” commented her son Bill Mitchell who accompanied her to Hoosier Lottery Headquarters.
She had no problem taking the day off to claim her prize. She works for her daughter at Mitchell’s Jewelry, a business Morris started with her husband many years ago.
She bought her winning Gas for Life Scratch-off ticket from Paoli Dairyland at 201 West Main Street in Paoli.
“I plan to keep playing twice a week,” said Morris.
