JACK A. BOEHM NAMED COLORADO LOTTERY DIRECTOR
July 1, 2008
DENVER - Jack A. Boehm has been named director of the Colorado Lottery, effective July 1.
Boehm joined the Colorado Lottery this year as the agency's Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the information technology, program management operations and fiscal departments. He has been acting director since April when former director Peggy Gordon announced her retirement. Gordon’s last day was June 30.
"Jack brings substantial experience to the Colorado Lottery," said Roxy Huber, executive director of the Colorado Department of Revenue, in announcing Boehm’s appointment. "He will provide strong leadership and a deep understanding of the issues facing the Lottery."
A Lottery industry veteran, Boehm has served in executive positions with several state lotteries as well as a management consultant to businesses in the gaming sector. His previous positions include: Director of Operations for the Arizona Lottery for GTech Corporation, a lottery industry vendor; Deputy Director for the Minnesota State Lottery; Program Director for Control Data Corporation; and Vice President of Operations for Syntech International, a company involved in the lottery industry. In addition, Boehm was the chief architect for the implementation of the first fully automated Lottery Instant Ticket accounting and processing system, created to launch the Minnesota Lottery. He was also a Vice President of Technologies for American Express Corporation.
“The Colorado Lottery has built a strong track record over the last 25 years and I look forward to continuing that tradition,” said Boehm, who will be based at the Lottery’s Pueblo headquarters.
Boehm holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University and a bachelor's degree in mathematics and education from Michigan State University. A search for a new COO will begin immediately.
