ROANOKE WOMAN WINS $200,000 IN VIRGINIA LOTTERY SCRATCHER GAME

Tammi Johnson of Roanoke knew from looking at the Virginia Lottery’s website, that there were three top prizes left in the Hit $200,000 Scratcher game.
“I figured the odds were good,” she later told Lottery officials.
So she went to Quickway, located at 5032 Melrose Avenue in Roanoke, and bought a ticket. When she scratched it she quickly realized she had won the top prize of $200,000.
Her first reaction was to scream. Her second reaction was to jump in the car and drive immediately to the Lottery’s Roanoke Valley Customer Service Center in Roanoke to claim her prize.
“I didn’t want the ticket in my purse overnight!” she said.
When asked how it feels to win, she replied, “I’m having a pretty good day.”
