NORTH LIBERTY MAN SCORES $50,000 PLAYING NEW SCRATCH GAME

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Johnson County man didn't need to go to Hollywood to win big playing “Deal or No Deal!”
Markham Harris of North Liberty won $50,000 playing the Iowa Lottery's newest $5 “Deal or No Deal” instant-scratch game. He purchased the winning ticket at Hy-Vee Gas, 2025 Second St. in Coralville.
Harris claimed his prize at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.
Deal or No Deal is a $5 scratch game. Players scratch each of the 18 “Briefcases” to reveal either a dollar amount or a “No Deal” symbol. Players then scratch only the corresponding dollar amounts or symbols in the “Prize Table” to eliminate that dollar amount or symbol. If the one remaining unmatched box in the “Prize Table” is a dollar amount, the player wins that amount. The overall odds of winning in the game are 1 in 3.52.
