ATLANTA – A Waverly Hall custodian has collected piles of cash from winning the lottery. Melvin Bussey, 45, waited more than a month to claim his $187,065 Fantasy 5 top prize from the May 4 Fantasy 5 drawing.
"I just wanted to think about what I wanted to do with the money, that's all," Bussey said. "I had to let it sink in."
USA Food Store, 9048 Ga. Highway 85 in Waverly Hall, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. Winning numbers from the May 4 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 1-8-28-31-39. Bussey said he learned of his lottery win the following day when he went back to the store where he purchased his ticket.
"I am very happy and humble," he said.
Bussey said he plans to pay off bills and take a vacation to Biloxi, Miss.
"I'm overjoyed," he exclaimed. "It's a happy occasion."
