BEDFORD COUNTY MAN WINS $52,000 IN WIN FOR LIFE

When Graham “Danny” Humphreys goes to his favorite store to check his lottery tickets, he always jokes: “How many millions did I win?” When he checked his ticket from the May 17, 2008, Win For Life drawing, he was shocked by the answer. His ticket won the game’s second highest prize of $52,000.
“It’s hard to believe!” he told Lottery officials when he claimed his prize. “I’ve been in shock all week.”
Mr. Humphreys won by matching five of the first six numbers plus the Free Ball. The winning numbers for that drawing were 15-22-24-25-33-40 and the Free Ball was 20. He bought the ticket at H & H Market, located at 11619 Lee Jackson Highway in Big Island.
Mr. Humphreys, who works as a mail carrier, said he intends to use his winnings for home repairs.
Win For Life offers a top prize of $1,000 per week for the life of the winner. Other prizes range from $2 to $52,000. Drawings are held Wednesday and Saturday nights at 11:00.
