ROANOKE MAN WINS $100,000 ON HIS BIRTHDAY

“This is a birthday present and a half!”
That’s how Leslie Wiley of Roanoke felt as he claimed the $100,000 top prize in the Virginia Lottery’s Kings and Queens Scratcher game. It was his 53rd birthday.
The retired quality control inspector purchased his winning ticket at P’N’N Market, located at 1650 Hershberger Road in Roanoke.
“Something just told me to go there,” he told Lottery officials. “I’m still in shock.”
He said he intends to use his winnings to pay off bills.
Kings and Queens is one of more than 50 games currently offered by the Virginia Lottery. It features prizes ranging from $10 all the way up to $100,000. Mr. Wiley is the third player to win the top prize, which means there is still one Kings and Queens ticket out there that will win the top prize.
