“CAROLINA CASH 5” TICKET WORTH $575,372 SOLD IN CURRITUCK COUNTY
June 5, 2008

RALEIGH - “Carolina Cash 5” players should look at their tickets for the June 4 drawing. One ticket matched all five white balls and is worth $575,372! This is the third highest prize won on “Carolina Cash 5.”

The numbers to match in last night’s drawing are 2 – 3 – 6 – 7 – 38. The winning ticket was sold at The Border Station on Caratoke Highway in Moyock.

Robert Alvarado of Fayetteville won $100,000 playing the “Fabulous 5’s” instant scratch-off game. Alvarado says after paying bills, he wants to use the money to take his children on a vacation to Florida, and perhaps put new siding on his house. Alvarado purchased his ticket at the Kangaroo Express on Rosehill Road in Fayetteville.

In the June 4 Powerball drawing, one ticket matched four out of five white balls and the Powerball and is worth $10,000. This ticket was sold at Larry Hughes Inc. on Highway 109 South in Lexington.

A total of 37,597 North Carolina Powerball players won prizes in Wednesday night’s drawing, ranging from $10,000 down to $3 for a total payout in prizes worth $300,445. No one matched all five white balls and the Powerball to win the jackpot, so the Powerball jackpot for the Saturday, June 7, Powerball drawing is $20 million.

The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) has paid out more than $4.2 million total in instant scratch-off ticket prizes since Monday, June 2. Also since Monday, “Carolina Cash 5” players have won more than $784,000 and “Carolina Pick 3” players have won nearly $755,000 in prizes.
