RICHMOND MAN WINS $100,000 INSTANTLY
June 5, 2008
Dwight Vaughn, 73, is $100,000 richer after uncovering the top prize on a "Jumbo Bucks" Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket.

Vaughn was on his way from his home in Richmond to meet his wife, Ruby, at the Lake of the Ozarks. He said he always stops for gas at Break Time, 808 E. Broadway in Sedalia. When he stopped there on May 20, he also bought four $5 "Jumbo Bucks" tickets. Dwight Vaughn met his wife for dinner in Laurie, and they each scratched two of the tickets. The lucky ticket was the first one that Ruby Vaughn scratched.

"I thought, ’Am I seeing things?’" said Ruby Vaughn. "I said, ’Dwight, Dwight!’"

The couple said they were so excited after uncovering their prize that they couldn’t eat dinner or sleep that night.

Dwight Vaughn said they plan to put their prize money in the bank.
