SUTTON PLAYER HITS FOR $1 MILLION ON SOX TICKET

Steven B. Vernon of Sutton took home a $1 million prize playing the Limited Edition World Series Boston Red Sox Instant Ticket from the Massachusetts State Lottery. Vernon is the lucky seventh player to win $1 million on the instant game.
Vernon, pictured here with Executive Director Mark Cavanagh, picked up his first of 20 annuity checks for $50,000 before taxes today at Lottery headquarters in Braintree.
He bought the lucky ticket at the Tedeschi Food Store on Winchester Street in Newton. The store will receive a $10,000 commission on the sale.
The Lottery has sold more than 3.2 million of The Limited Edition World Series Boston Red Sox Instant tickets since it hit the market on April 8. The $20 instant game features 20 instant prizes of $1 million and two instant prizes of $10 million – the largest instant prize ever awarded by a U.S. lottery.
