INDIANAPOLIS – Kay Stark of Fort Wayne matched all five Powerball numbers on Saturday, May 31 for a $200,000 win. She claimed her prize from Hoosier Lottery Headquarters today.
"I always check my numbers right after church," said Stark. "My husband and I joked all the time that if we won, I'd just call him and tell him to pack his bags!"
They haven't packed their bags yet, but they did take a drive to Indianapolis to claim their prize.
"I definitely took today off!" said Stark. She works for JobWorks, Inc. in northern Indiana.
Stark matched the following five Powerball numbers: 3, 9, 14, 17 and 25. The Powerball number was 8 and the Power Play multiplier was 4.
She purchased her winning ticket from Engle Pride at 3730 Engle Road in Fort Wayne.
The Starks plan to pay off bills, invest some of the money and possibly take a trip. "He wants a weed wacker, too!" said Stark.
There is still an unclaimed $800,000 Powerball prize from Saturday May 31. The ticket was purchased from Gas America #73 at 5829 State Road 43 North in West Lafayette.
Lauren Lawson of Farmland claimed $75,000 from Hoosier Lottery Headquarters today playing Scratch-off game Hot Streak.
The Randolph County resident is an EMT affiliated with Ball Hospital.
"I was trying to figure out how to give myself CPR!" said Lawson when he first found out he had a winner. He purchased his winning ticket from Speedway #5005 at 3210 Wheeling Ave. in Muncie.
Lawson and his wife have twin sons who are 11-years-old. "They think they are millionaires," said Lawson. "And all they want is a DVD player for our van!"
The Lawsons plan to pay off their debts and take their sons to Branson, Mo.
