Boise – Charles Rexford, Arco, claimed the $200,000 winning ticket from the May 10, 2008 Powerball draw. Rexford collected $134,400 after state and federal taxes during a visit to Lottery Headquarters in Boise on Friday, May 23, 2008.
“The ticket was with a whole stack of other Powerball tickets in my wallet I’ve been collecting since January,” confessed Rexford on holding the winning ticket before checking it ten times on the Internet to make sure it was the winner. “Maybe I ought to check all the other tickets, too.”
The winning ticket was sold at Beardalls’ Bargain Barn in Arco.
This $200,000 winning ticket is the largest Powerball ticket sold in the greater Idaho Falls area since 1996, when a winning ticket worth $48.2 million was also sold in Arco, Butte County.
