ATLANTA – A Kellogg's Snacks food worker in Rome is chomping on a $1 million lottery win. Nancy Edwards, who has worked as a production scheduler for 23 years, played the instant game Georgia Lottery's Cash Explosion and won a $1 million top prize.
Golden Gallon #3522, 3131 Maple St. in Lindale, sold the winning ticket. The mother of four scratched the ticket outside of the store while on her lunch break.
"I started shaking," she said. "I showed it to the clerk, and she grabbed me. I was laughing, crying and my knees were shaking."
Edwards and her husband, Roger, have four children and eight grandchildren. One daughter, a lottery-funded HOPE Scholarship recipient, recently graduated from the nursing program at Georgia Highlands College in Rome.
The family has no immediate plans for the winnings, Edwards said.
"I think I'm still in a daze," she exclaimed. "It's hard to believe."
