SPOKANE RETIREE HITS 5

OLYMPIA— Longtime Spokane resident William Armstrong doesn’t really know what to do now that he’s $100,000 richer. After all, it’s not every day that he wins the Lottery!
“I feel great right now!” Armstrong said as he picked up his check from the Spokane Washington’s Lottery office. “It would’ve been even better, though, if I had won three times as much!”
Armstrong went in to his neighborhood Zip Trip the other day and purchased a Hit 5 ticket. He says he knew that Hit 5 pays out six-figure cash prizes frequently, so he figured the odds were in his favor.
“In Hit 5, you’ve only got to match five numbers – instead of the six you have to match in some of the other games,” says Armstrong. “Five is better than six!”
Armstrong discovered he had the winning ticket to the May 5 drawing when he compared his ticket against the numbers in the newspaper – 11-12-17-21-34. He isn’t sure what he’s going to do with his winnings, so for right now he’s stashing it in the bank.
“I might buy a truck, but I don’t know yet,” he says.
Armstrong purchased his winning ticket at the Zip Trip located at 303 South Altamont Street in Spokane.
