SCEL PLAYERS SEE TRIPLE 9’S AND BEAT THE HOUSE!

COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina Education Lottery’s (SCEL) Pick 3 players with a triple 9 combination in the May 14, 2008, midday drawing are celebrating! The numbers 9-9-9 were selected, with 2,855 tickets correctly matching the winning numbers to win $250. The total payout to players was $713,750. Ticket sales for the draw were $163,101.50 which means prizes were 438% of sales!

This isn’t the first time triple 9’s have been drawn in a Pick 3 drawing. It happened during the midday drawing on January 19, 2006. The payout was $629,000 for that drawing.

“The day before the drawing triple 9’s was the 9th most played Pick 3 number combination,” said David Barden, Director of Marketing and Product Development.
