WASHINGTON COUNTY MAN WINS $50,000 TOP INSTANT TICKET PRIZE FROM PENNSYLVANIA LOTTERY

WASHINGTON – A Washington County man who won $50,000 cash, the top prize in the Pennsylvania Lottery’s $5 instant ticket game, $50,000 Birthday Dough, picked up his winnings today.
Pennsylvania Lottery’s Pittsburgh Regional Manager, Terri Hopkins, and other Lottery officials presented a ceremonial check to Richard Harris, Jr. at the Shree Enterprises/SUNOCO at 195 Murtland Avenue in Washington, Washington County, where he bought his winning ticket on April 23.
Harris, who is a sales consultant at the Budd Baer Car Dealership in Washington, said he purchases instant tickets occasionally. “I had a birthday earlier in the month, so I decided to take a chance and asked for a Birthday Dough scratch-off ticket,” said Harris. “I never imagined I would win the top prize!”
As of May 19, 11 top $50,000 Birthday Dough prizes remain in the game. The $50,000 Birthday Dough is a $5 game with 15 top prizes of $50,000 and nine chances to win on each ticket. There are more than 250,000 prizes from $20 to $500 in the game.
