NEW JERSEY SELLS TWO WINNING $250,000 TICKETS AS OHIO PLAYER HITS $196 MILLION JACKPOT

TRENTON, NJ – A player from Ohio won the $196 million Mega Millions jackpot for the drawing held on Friday, May 16. In addition, two lucky New Jersey Lottery players won the Mega Millions second prize of $250,000. One of the winning tickets was sold in Hudson County , and was purchased at Martin's News Shop, located in the Harborside Financial Center at 100 Plaza 5 in Jersey City . The other lucky ticket was sold in Bergen County at Bobanell's Liquors, located at 2450 Lemoine Avenue in Fort Lee . The jackpot now resets to $12 million for the Tuesday, May 20 drawing.
“Congratulations to Martin's News Shop and Bobanell's Liquors ,” said the Lottery's Acting Executive Director William T. Jourdain. “ For selling these tickets, they will each receive a bonus check for $500. They have become two of the Lottery's most recent ‘lucky locations' overnight.”
In addition to the Garden State 's two second-prize winners, 198,632 other New Jersey players took home $873,334 in prizes ranging from $2 to $10,000, according to Jourdain.
Jourdain also noted that the many New Jersey Mega Millions prize recipients were not the only ‘winners' in this jackpot roll. “From this Mega Millions jackpot roll alone, which began on April 4 th , New Jersey generated over $17.7 million in support of state programs and an estimated $2.1 million in commissions for our lottery retailers. Mega Millions is truly a winning experience for all citizens of the Garden State .”
The winning numbers for the Friday, May 16 drawing were: 06, 11, 39, 46, and 47 and the Gold Mega Ball number was 26. The Mega Millions jackpot will reset to $12,000,000 for the next drawing, which will be held on Tuesday, May 20 at 11:00 pm on NJN-TV –the New Jersey Network.
