BALTIMORE MAN WINS $10,000 WITH ULTIMATE PAYDAY SCRATCH-OFF

(Baltimore) – A morning stop to make a quick purchase turned into a big payday for a 74-year-old Baltimore man. The Bethlehem Steel retiree said that he bought the one Ultimate Payday scratch-off on a whim. “It was the first Lottery ticket I bought in three or four months,” he said. He added that he sometimes plays Pick 4 and, in fact, had won $10,000 with that particular game several years ago. “I played my house number. I surprised my family with the win when I took everybody to dinner and then picked up the entire bill.”
Accompanied by his brother to Lottery Headquarters, he said that he hasn’t yet told his wife of 48 years or his two daughters. He intends to surprise them again this time. The soft-spoken gentleman said that after purchasing his Ultimate Payday he and his brother went back to their car and scratched the ticket. “We realized that it was a winner, so we immediately came straight here to Lottery headquarters,” said his brother. “There were no stops in between, except for red lights.”
Still recovering from a lengthy illness, the happy winner said this was a nice surprise after a rough time. He intends to put his prize money in the bank to use as it’s needed.
The winning ticket was purchased at Hamilton Park Citgo, located at 2301 E. Northern Pkwy. in Baltimore.
