INDEPENDENCE MAN HAS “SUPER” LUCK

TOPEKA, KAN. – Stephen Williams seems to have great luck choosing the right instant scratch ticket to purchase. In December, the Independence resident picked himself a $4,000 winner and yesterday he picked another big winner. Williams purchased 10 $1 Super 6’s instant scratch tickets, winning a $6,000 top prize.
“When I won $4,000, I was nervous,” said Williams. “But yesterday when I realized I’d won $6,000, I was confused and surprised. This is what I call luck.”
Williams, who works for Subway, had the day off but decided to come in for a few hours to help unload a truck.
“Subway is attached to the convenience store where I bought my tickets,” explained Williams. “When I finished unloading the truck, I thought I’d take a break and buy some tickets. I couldn’t believe it when I scratched off that winner. I was about to give up.”
The first nine tickets were non-winners, but the last ticket was the lucky one.
The winning ticket was purchased at Jump Start Independence, located at 401 W. Main, in Inpendence.
