Boise – For the eighth time since the first of the year, the Idaho Lottery has a winning Powerball ticket worth at least $200,000. The most recent winning ticket was sold for last Saturday night’s $20 million draw in Butte County, west of Idaho Falls in eastern Idaho.
“Idaho continues to be one of the luckiest jurisdictions in the country to play Powerball,” stated Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “This is our fifteenth $200,000 or higher Powerball winner since the Fiscal Year began on July 1, 2007.”
The winning numbers for Saturday night were 7, 18, 30, 41, 45, and the Powerball was 6. The winning ticket matched all five of the first numbers but not the Powerball number. Including the $200,000 winning ticket, there were a total of 7,619 winners that won at least $3 in last Saturday night’s draw.
“Players who have visited Butte County recently and purchased a Powerball ticket should check their tickets carefully,” added Anderson. “Too often, players look at their ticket and see they didn’t match the Powerball and think they do not have a winner. In this case, our winner matched every number but the Powerball and is holding a ticket worth $200,000.”
No one has come forward to claim Saturday night’s winning ticket.
This $200,000 winning ticket is the largest Powerball ticket sold in the greater Idaho Falls area since 1996, when a winning ticket worth $48.2 million was also sold in Butte County.
Saturday night’s $200,000 winning Powerball ticket is the fourth such ticket sold on the eastern side of Idaho since January, the other three all coming from Malad City. Two of those have been claimed. The third $200,000 winner, sold for the January 26, 2008 draw, remains at large.
The jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball draw is $26 million.
