Check your old Powerball tickets. The $200,000 top cash prize from the Powerball drawing held April 19 remains unclaimed, according to Lottery Director John Musgrave.
Computer records indicate the ticket was purchased at Little General on Robert C. Byrd Drive in Crab Orchard. The winning ticket missed hitting the $111 million drawing by just one number, the Powerball.
Musgrave said that in Powerball history, top $100,000 and $200,000 Powerball winners have claimed 404 prizes for a total of more than $43 million. "That would be 404 players who have missed the jackpot by just one number," Musgrave said.
The top Powerball cash prize was $100,000 when the game was introduced in 1992; the prize moved to $200,000 in 2005. Lottery computer records indicate there have been 375 $100,000 winners and 29 $200,000 winners.
