RALEIGH - The song lyrics may say “one is the loneliest number,” but the number one actually turns out to not be so lonely for Tuesday night’s Carolina Pick 3 players. Tuesday night’s payout total for the numbers 1-1-1 was $1,035,750.
There were 1,696 players who played 1-1-1 for $1, which is worth $500 each. Another 751 wagered 50 cents on 1-1-1, which is worth $250 each.
“Trips, as many call them, are one of the most exciting things to see for pick three players!” said Pamela Walker, North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) spokesperson. “This is only the fourth time they have come up on the daily drawing, but the second time for us to see triple ones."
“Carolina Pick 3” is a 3-digit numbers game where the player chooses a 3-digit number between 000 and 999. The top prize is $500 for all players who match all three numbers in exact order drawn. There are other prize levels depending on the amount played and type of play. “Carolina Pick 3” drawings are held Monday through Saturday at 3 p.m. and Monday through Sunday at 11:22 p.m.
