ATLANTA – A 51-year-old Atlanta welder has fused together a little green, a little gold and a lot of luck. Roy Patterson Jr. played Green and Gold, a Georgia Lottery instant game, and won $350,000.
Patterson scratched his ticket in a break room at work Thursday morning. After sharing the news with co-workers and his supervisor, he celebrated with a hearty breakfast before heading to Georgia Lottery headquarters to claim his winnings.
Main Street Chevron, located at 3537 Main St. in College Park, sold the top prize ticket.
Patterson, a city of College Park employee, is excited about his win.
"I'm going to pay off all of my credit cards, get a new car, and help my brothers and sisters," he shared.
According to Patterson, he has always felt lucky.
"Luck to me is breathing and health. This is extra lucky here," he exclaimed.
